Catherine Grady Sterk ’77, ’78 and Holly Ong ’77
Catherine Grady Sterk ’77, ’78, PharmD, FCSHP, is a recently retired leader with 24 years of service in the pharmaceutical industry and 17 years as a clinical pharmacist in the hospital and health-system setting. Currently Dr. Sterk serves as interim head of solid tumor medical science liaisons at Genentech, Inc., a member of the Roche Group.
Dr. Sterk served on the Pacific Pharmacy Alumni Board for more than 16 consecutive years and served past-president. She is also the 2021 past director of the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists and regional officer of strategic planning training for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Dr. Sterk earned her bachelor of science in pharmaceutical sciences and her doctor of pharmacy from University of the Pacific. She completed a residency in hospital pharmacy at University of California, San Francisco.
In her free time, she enjoys skiing, walking and watching sports, especially the San Francisco Giants.
Holly Ong ’77 BS Pharm was a consultant for Genentech whose career began in pharmacy, though she quickly found her path beyond traditional practice. An outdoors enthusiast at heart, she loves skiing at Palisades and stays active through diving and cycling. During her college years, she worked as a campus lifeguard and was proud to be a PDC little sister. When she’s not outside, she enjoys baking bread and spending time as a devoted auntie to her nieces and nephews.
